After some decades the company specialized in the production of a very extensive product range for use in Scandinavian hospitals and nursing homes.<\/p>\n

In the early 1970s a revolutionary modular storage concept was developed and introduced to the Scandinavian market. The ISO standard for 400 x 600 mm modules originated from this system, which was named the \u201cScanModul System\u201d and gave the company its current name. This system was the base for the further development of the company and was refined over the years through increased market insights and growing experience. Several complementary products were developed, resulting in todays end-to-end supply management system.<\/p>\n

Innovations and the continuing extension of the product range bring ScanModul\u00ae<\/sup> close to its vision: Providing the healthcare sector worldwide with all storage and transportation needs by offering high quality, ergonomic products and premium services that support the in-house logistical processes. Product lines now include a vast range of modules and baskets, ScanCell\u00ae<\/sup> trolleys, CleanLine cabinets, racking, different transport solutions.<\/p>\n

In line with this vision, in 2022 ScanModul\u00ae<\/sup> acquired BELINTRA, a well-established Belgian provider of safe and smart healthcare solutions. Especially its offerings in secure medication distribution, mobile IT and its Sterisystem\u00ae<\/sup> logistics flow for CSSD and OR are a great addition to the existing ScanModul\u00ae<\/sup> portfolio.<\/p>\n

Over the years ScanModul\u00ae<\/sup> evolved from a regional Scandinavian supplier to the largest European vendor in the field of modular systems. Next to its roots in Scandinavia, a new headquarter and modern operations facility were established more centrally in Houten, The Netherlands. Additional branches were opened in Germany, France and Spain and with the support of a complementary sales distribution network ScanModul\u00ae<\/sup> today fulfils the needs of more than 8 000 customers in healthcare worldwide.<\/p>\n

As the inventor in the field of modular systems, ScanModul\u00ae<\/sup> is proud of its leadership position with focus on operational excellence. Today we no longer only look at processes in materials management.\u00a0 Solutions such as SCANflow combine technological developments and the ability to capture data automatically from various aspects of hospitals\u2019 operations resulting in further cost savings, safety and efficiency for the hospital.<\/p>\n

1912<\/td>\nThe company was founded in 1912 by Georg Larsson and originally provided catering trolleys to Danish hospitals.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n\r\n
1940<\/td>\nLarsson\u2019s son – Ole Larsson –\u00a0took the helm of the company and expanded its product offering to include hospital beds; trolleys and cabinets.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n\r\n
1972<\/td>\nScanModul\u00ae<\/sup> developed the modular storage concept and introduced it to the Scandinavian market \u2013 the now standard 40x60cm system was born – the basis for the ISO 3394 standard.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n\r\n
